BOO - Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween everyone!

This card is made using the new Dimension Stamps stamp set called Sew Creative (ref: 2400073a) and Octobers Project club set - Seasonal House (ref: 1402037a).

How to make:
  • Cover the front of an A5 white card in blue fabric.
  • The leaf print background was made by using oak leaves (yes real leaves, I knew these mountains of leaves outside would come in handy!) and fabric paint - iron between layers of paint to fix it!
  • Onto the blue fabric, stamp “on Halloween” and the spider from Seasonal House in black Versacraft ink over the leaves.
  • Next stamp the metal manikin onto the back round in black ink.
Attach no sew heat“n” bond to all fabric that is to be cut as it gives it strength and stops it from fraying!
  • Stamp two cotton reels and draw a pumpkin (big enough to look as if it fits the solid manikin)onto light tan fabric.
  • Stamp the solid manikin with spiders on the body onto cream fabric. Paint with fabric paints and cut out.
  • Also cut out a black fabric dress, two bats and a witches hat and die cut a black cat.
  • Using gold fabric paint stamp the spider onto the dress, hat and cats collar.
  • Attach the black dress to the metal manikin.
  • Add narrow ribbon to the back of the pumpkin and over the shoulders of the solid manikin , then glue to the background.
  • Finally add the two bats, cotton reels, cat and witches hat on top of the solid manikin.
Happy Haunting!

October Project Club - Merry Christmas

This set of stamps seems to work in any colour combination. I just love working with creams and browns and couldn't wait to try it out.

How to make:
  • Stamp two holly leaves, the rectangle frame with “Merry Christmas” inside, the house with bricks and icicles onto cream hammer card in Memento Rich Cocoa, and two pine trees I used the Christmas Fir Tree stamp (ref: 0304075A).
  • Colour in with brown and cream Promarkers, cut out all the pieces and mount the "Merry Christmas" onto brown pearl card.
  • Cut a 13cm x 19cm piece of cream hammer card, place do not attach the house in the bottom right hand corner and stamp the flying santa and sleigh (I don't know its proper name!) so it’s behind the house.
  • Edge the card with a gold pen and centrally attach to a 14cm x 20cm piece of brown pearl card.
  • Attach a narrow piece of brown/cream checked ribbon across the top and down the left hand side of the card 4.5cm from the edge of the brown card.
  • Centrally attach this to an A5 cream hammer card.
  • In the top left hand corner attach the two holly leaves, the "Merry Christmas" in the top right hand corner, the two trees down the left hand side of the card the one next to the ribbon flat to the card and the other use 3D glue or foam pads, and the house to the bottom right hand corner with foam pads.

October Project Club - New Home number 2!

I really enjoyed making this new home card, it has a lovely wintry feel!

How to make:
  • Back a white stepper card with lilac paper.
  • Stamp the swirl from the Petal Passion stamp set (ref: 2400065A) down the tall side twice and across the bottom once in Memento Grape Jelly.
  • Also using the Petal passion stamp set stamp the medium size flower twice and the small flower once onto light lilac card in Memento Tuxedo Black, using the small three petal stamp and Grape Jelly stamp it to the top of each petal of the medium flowers, in each of the small flower petals use the three petals from the end of the swirl, cut out and shape the flowers.
  • Stamp the house with bricks onto light lilac card in Tuxedo Black, colour in with purple and lilac Promarkers and cut out.
  • Stamp “ New Home” using the Uppercase Plain Alphabet stamp set (ref: 2400050A) and  Lowercase Plain Alphabet stamp set (ref: 2400060A) onto a darker lilac card in Tuxedo Black.
  • Randomly stamp sold, bricks and the potted bush onto the letters in Grape Jelly, cut out and shape the letters.
  • Die cut two light and three dark lilac card pine trees (Sizzix Pine Tree 38-0179) and two leaves (Tim Holtz Tattered Leaves 656927) in light lilac card, stamp the swirl (from Petal Passion) over the leaves in Grape Jelly, scrunch up and distress in Dusty Concord distress ink.
  • Attach the bottom half of the trees to the tall stepper, put the house on but do not attach, stamp the path and sold sign in tuxedo black, stamp three potted bushes in grape jelly, attach the house with foam pads.
  • Attach the leaves to the left hand side of the card so one is just showing above the first step and the other goes up the left hand side of the card.
  • Using 3D glue attach "New" down the left hand side of the card to just above the lower step over lapping the letters if needed, and "Home" across the bottom to the right hand side.
  • Attach the flower to the bottom left hand corner with 3D glue add a purple flower button to the centre of the flower and a silver butterfly to the right of "New".

October Project Club - Blue Zig-Zag card

I wanted to make it look as if the houses were on a slope for this card and a Zig-Zag card did this perfectly.

How to make:

  • Stamp four Christmas trees, three holly leaves and three houses with bricks and icicles onto light blue card using Memento Paris Dusk.
  • Colour in with blue Promarkers and a silver pen, add Diamond stickles to the windows and trees when dry cut out.
  • To make the backing paper I scrunched up and opened out a piece of white paper a few times, then rubbed over the open sheet with a light and darker blue ink pads, it was then photocopied so it was flat.
  • A white zig-zag card was made and a piece cut off to make each fold slope down from back to front.
  • Leaving a narrow border of white cut out and attach a piece of blue card to fit the first five sides of the card (not the back), leaving a narrow border of blue cut out and attach a piece of the backing paper to fit the three panels seen from the front of the card.
  • On the smallest panel without backing paper stamp “Merry Christmas” in the centre and the holly leaves in each corner in Paris Dusk.
  • On the other panel without backing paper stamp a Christmas greetings with the holly leaves in each corner.
  • Attach a house to the top right hand side of the back backed panel, stamp the pathway in Paris dusk from the door, add some holly leaves to the bottom corners and two of the trees along the path way, to the middle backed panel attach the house the top left hand side of the card stamp in the path way add a tree to the right and some holly to the bottom corners, using foam pads attach the house to the right hand side of the card with the tree to the left hand side of it.

October Project Club - Pumpkin Card

I just couldn't resist making this card, it would make a great halloween party invite!

How to make:
  • Cut a pumpkin shape out of a 14.8cm x 14.9cm orange card, cutting away the middle from the front of the card leaving about 1cm around the edge of the card.
  • Stamp the house with bricks, moon, and lots of spiders onto white card using memento tuxedo black, stamp four extra bats and colour in the house using orange, black, green and purple Promarkers.
  • Around the front edge of the pumpkin card stamp “On Halloween” and some spiders leaving room for three bats.
  • Cut out a piece of orange and black striped card to fit the inside front of the card, tear around the house.
  • Using a mask over the house distress around the house with weathered wood distress ink.
  • Attach to the centre of the striped card and attach the striped card to the inside of the card.
  • Cut out the four bats glue one to the bat on the moon and the other three to the front of the card, 3D gloss the four bats.
