CRD: Monthly Make - Shopping Bag

Nope, your not seeing things. I got that carried away with the fabric paints and  I actually decorated both sides of the bag using March's Monthly Make from Crafty Roo Designs.

So here is the second one...


Materials
March's stamps.
Stamp Bases. 
DecoArt So Soft Fabric Paint assorted colours.
Sponges.
Plastic table mat.
Canvas Tote Bag, (Washed, ironed No Soft Rinse)

How to Make
1) Stamp the three sentiments in a row with the Winter one in the middle, across the bottom of the bag using light tan paint, wash stamps do not let the paint dry on them.
2) Stamp a solid stem and two solid leaves above each sentiment using light green paint, and over stamp them all with the outline stamps using dark green paint.
3) Stamp each solid Tulip flower in a different colour and over stamp with the outline stamp in a darker shade.

CRD: Monthly Make - Shopping bag

When I saw March's Monthly Make from Crafty Roo Designs I immediately thought that would look lovely painted onto glass, but before I blinked Kym had decided to do that as her something different. So undeterred I got one of Crafty Roo's Plain Shopping Cotton bags and away I went. Plus I had just discovered some new fabric paints I wanted to try out too!



Materials

  • March's Stamps
  • Stamp Bases
  • Decoart SoSoft fabric paints assorted colours.
  • Sponges.
  • Canvas Tote Bag, (Washed and ironed No Soft Rinse).
  • Scraps of green and lilac fabrics, 10inch square of cream fabric.( All washed, dried and ironed NO Soft Rinse).
  • Heat n Bond Lite( Follow instructions to apply to back of fabric).
  • Stranded Cotton lilac, light tan and green. 
  • Craft tools.



How to make 
1) Stamp rows of each of the three sentiments onto the 10 inch Cream fabric using light tan paint, (stamp onto a firm washable surface and do not move the fabric while stamping, wash stamp right away do not let them dry), stamp three solid stems in light green paint and over stamp using the outline stamp in dark green, wash stamps.
2) Following the instructions apply Heat n Bond Lite to the green and lilac fabrics.
3) Stamp the outline stamp three times onto the lilac fabric using purple paint, and the leaf outline stamp six times onto the green fabric using dark green paint, (I used green check fabric so used light green first on the solid stamp).
4) Cut out all the flowers and leaves leaving a narrow edge of fabric all around Do Not peel the paper off until you iron it in place, iron on the two leaves of the middle tulip to the cream piece of fabric and blanket stitch  around in place using two strands of green cotton, iron on the tulip head and blanket around in place, continue this until all flowers are sewn in place,
5) Iron the piece of cream fabric and apply a piece of Heat n Bond Lite to the back, trim a narrow piece of each edge if needed, iron on to the bag and blanket stitch in place using light tan cotton.

CRD: Monthly Make - There had to be one.....

cream and brown card that is.....

What can I say creams and brown are my go to colours and always will be, so here is my cream and brown card using March's Monthly Make from Crafty Roo Designs.

I haven't added a sentiment to this one but there is plenty of room for one at the bottom.




Materials

  • March's Stamp Set.
  • Stamp bases.
  • Memento:- Rich Cocoa, Peanut Brittle, Toffee Crunch.
  • Distress inks:- Antique Linen, Tea Dye, Brushed Corduroy, Gathered Twigs.
  • Sizzix 657196 distressed frame and postal Embossing Folder.
  • Brown ribbon.
  • A5 kraft card, orange and cream card.
  • Double sided tape or glue. 
  • Craft tools.
How to make
1) Cut a 11.5 cm x 19.8 cm piece of orange card, at the bottom stamp part of the solid flower head using Peanut Brittle, over stamp with the outline stamp using Rich Cocoa.
2) Place (Do not attach) onto the right side of the front of the A5 craft card, stamp two leaves down the space to the left side of the card, stamp the solid leaf using Toffee Crunch, and over stamp with the outline stamp using Rich Cocoa.
3) Cut a 14cm x 12cm piece of cream card, stamp the Tulip in the centre the solid leaves and stem using Toffee Crunch and the solid flower using Peanut Brittle, over stamp with the outline stamps using Rich Cocoa.
4) Emboss distress frame and trim it down to lines on card 10.7cm x 13.7cm, distress over the flower using Antique Linen, working out from the centre start with Tea Dye , then Brushed Corduroy and Gathered Twigs around the edges.
5) Centrally adhere to the top of the Orange card using double sided tape or glue, attach a piece of ribbon under the embossed piece, centrally adhere between the leaves and right side edge of the A5 craft card using double sided tape or glue, knot a piece of ribbon to the ribbon.

CRD: Monthly Make - Simply Tulips

I love that by just having one focal colour on a card it makes the whole card stand out. So for this card I did just that, using March's Monthly Make from Crafty Roo Designs.


Materials

  • March's stamp set.
  • Stamp bases.
  • Memento:- Tuxedo Black, London Fog, Lilac Posies.
  • Black chiffon ribbon.
  • 4 Black and 1 Pink Card Candi's.
  • 7inc square white card, black and white card.
  • Double sided tape or glue 3D glue or foam pads.

How to make
1) Cut a 14.3cm x 16.7cm piece of black card , and cut a 12.6cm x 15.7cm and a 2cm x 16.7cm pieces of white card.
2) Make two masks of the Tulip, stamp the two outside Tulips first mask of where needed and stamp the middle one, the solid leaves and stem using London Fog, and the solid flower head using Lilac Posies, over stamp with the outline stamps all using Tuxedo Black.
3) Edge both white pieces in Lilac Posies, cut the stamped piece into three 15.7cm x 4.2cm pieces, evenly adhere to the black piece of card using double sided tape or glue.
4) Centrally attach a piece of black ribbon down the 2cm x 15.7cm piece of card, adhere the stamped piece of card to the right of the 7 inch square white card, with the ribbon piece down the left side of the card, using double sided tape or glue.
5) Adhere a black card Candi in each corner, knot a piece of ribbon with a pink card Candi to the knot using 3D glue or foam pads.

CRD: Monthly Make - MUM

For this card I have teamed March's Monthly Make from Crafty Roo Designs with the lovely Button Mum Sentiment.

I think this one would make a lovely Mothers day or birthday card. As always just change the colours to suit....... 


Materials

  • March's Stamp Set
  • Other stamps:  Button Mum
  • Stamp bases
  • Memento:- London Fog, Lilac Posies.
  • Distress ink:- Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint, Picked Raspberry.
  • Green chiffon ribbon.
  • Buttons. 
  • 8 inch square white card, green and white card.
  • Double sided tape or glue, 3D glue.
  • Craft tools
How to Make
1) cut an 8 1/4 inch x 8 1/4 inch square piece of white card, and stamp the Mum sentiment in rows across it, starting in a different part of the sentiment on each row using London Fog.
2) Make two masks of the Tulip, stamp three Tulips in the centre starting with the two outside ones and masking where needed stamp a third one in the middle, the solid leaves and stem using Shabby Shutters and over stamping the outline stamps using Peeled Paint, the solid and outline flower head stamps using Lilac Posies.
3) Tear around all four sides distress the edges using Picked Raspberry, centrally adhere to a 7 1/2 inch x 7 1/2 inch square piece of green card, attach a piece of ribbon across the bottom right corner.
4) Centrally adhere to the 8 inch white card using double sided tape or glue, knot a piece of ribbon to the ribbon, attach a green button in the bottom right and top left corners and a pink button in the other two corners using 3D glue.

CRD: Monthly Make - Happy Easter!!

Happy Spring?????

What can I say, March's Monthly Make from Crafty Roo Designs is all Spring inspired, I wish the weather would get the hint!! Though the Grandkids loved the snow last week, so it's not all bad. And Looking around the garden there are signs Spring is trying to "spring!".

Anyway, Spring is here and Easter is just around the corner so I am going to kick of the Monthly Make Designs Samples with a lovely Easter Card, as always you could change the colours to suit.




Materials
  • March's Stamp Set
  • Other Stamps: "Happy" from Easter Greetings,  Little Petal and Build Your Own "Easter".
  • Stamp bases.
  • Memento:- Bamboo Leaves, Cantaloupe, Rich Cocoa.
  • Distress ink:- Shabby Shutters, Scattered Straw.
  • Narrow gold chiffon ribbon.
  • A5 cream card, yellow and cream card.
  • Double sided tape or glue, 3D glue or foam pads.
  • Craft tools.
How To Make
1) Randomly stamp the Little Petal onto the front of the cream A5 card card, using Cantaloupe for the flower head and Bamboo Leaves for the leaves and stem, distress around the edges using Scattered Straw.
2) Cut a 9.5cm x 17.5cm piece of yellow card, and a 8.5cm x 16.5cm piece of cream card, stamp "Happy" top centre onto the cream card with "Easter" just below it without the end swirls using Rich Cocoa.
3) Stamp the Tulip centrally below "Easter".  Stamp the solid stem and leaves using Shabby Shutters and the solid flower head using Cantaloupe, over stamp all the outline stamps using Rich Cocoa.
4) Stamp the parts of the Tulip not the stem as before onto a piece of cream card, cut out and shape.
5) Centrally adhere the cream piece to the yellow piece using double sided tape or glue, using 3D glue or foam pads adhere the leaves and flower head over the stamped ones, (if using 3D glue let dry before you continue).
6) Attach two pieces of ribbon over the lower parts of the leaves, centrally adhere to the cream A5 card using double sided tape or glue, knot a piece of ribbon to opposite sides of the ribbons.
