CRD Monthly Make: Purple Anyone???

For this last card I thought I would try stamping the large flower head (piece of cloth) in another colour! And I think it looks just as good!

So this is the final card for this month, I have had great fun using this set there is so much more I want to do but the time has just flown this month.

Materials
  • Stamp Set
  • Stamp Bases.
  • Distress Ink:- Peeled Paint, Wilted Violet.
  • Memento:- Tuxedo Black.
  • Fabric Paint:- Black, Purple.
  • Cream Open Weave Craft Ribbon.
  • 17cm square Scalloped Edged Cream Card, Purple and White Card.
  • 3Purple Card Candi.
  • Double Sided Tape and Glues.
  • Craft Tool and Iron

How to Make

  • Cut a 18cm piece of craft ribbon, stamp the solid open flower four times along the ribbon using purple fabric paint, when dry iron it, over stamp with the outline stamp using black fabric paint, iron when dry.
  • Cut a piece of purple card a little smaller then the scalloped card, and a piece of cream card a little smaller than the purple card, ink up the large flower shape using Wilted Violet and over ink the centre using Tuxedo Black, stamp it to the top centre of the cream piece of card, stamp two more flowers onto the card, add a Peeled Paint stem to each flower, 
  • Second generation stamp a solid leaf to each stem and over stamp with the outline stamp using Peeled Paint, distress the edges using Wilted Violet.
  • Attach a 2.5cm piece of purple card down the centre of the craft ribbon using glue to hold the weave in place, adhere to bottom of the cream piece of card using Double Sided Tape or Glue and trim to the same width, centrally adhere to the purple card and then onto the cream card using Double Sided Tape or Glue.
  • Add a purple card Candi to each flower using 3D glue Glue.

CRD Monthly Make: Thinking of You

Materials
  • Thinking of You Stamp.
  • Stamp Bases.
  • Memento:- Tuxedo Black. 
  • Distress Ink:- carved pumpkin, Festive Berries, Peeled Paint, Stormy Sky.
  • Spritzer.
  • 15cm Square White Base Card, DK Red and White Card.
  • Double Sided Tape or Glue.
  • Craft Tools


How to Make

  • Cut a 14.2cm x 14.2cm square piece of DK red card and centrally adhere to the square White card using Double Sided Tape or Glue.
  • Cut a 13.5cm x 13.5cm square piece of white card, onto a large stamp base ink about 2.5cm at the bottom with Peeled Paint, ink up a 9cm x 13cm strip above the green with Carved Pumpkin, Festive Berries, and a few spots with Peeled Paint, spritz with water and lay the piece of white card over it so the bottom edge is over the green ink, leave to dry.
  • Stamp and cut out some masks of the solid flowers, leaf and seed heads, start at the front of the red part and stamp the outline flowers using Festive Berries and the seed head using second generation Peeled Paint using the masks where needed work to the back of the red.
  • Distress the top and down the sides using Stormy Sky, stamp Thinking of You at the top of the piece of card using Tuxedo Black, and centrally adhere to the piece of red card using Double Sided Tape or Glue.

CRD Monthly Make: With Love

Thanks for dropping by!

So, I mentioned that I had used a stamp not quite how it was designed. Well this is it! The large stamp in this months Monthly Make was designed to be a piece of cloth. Well all I could see was a large poppy head! 

Just goes to show we are all different, hope you like it .......


Materials
  • With Love Stamp. 
  • Stamp Bases.
  • Memento:- Dandelion, Bamboo Leaves, Lady Bug, Tangelo, Tuxedo Black.
  • Distress Ink:- Peeled Paint.
  • 8inch square White Card, DK Red and White Card.
  • Green chiffon ribbon.
  • 3 Red Card Candi's.
  • Red Marker Pen.
  • Craft Tools.

How to Make

  • Cut a 71/2 inch x 71/2 inch piece of red card and centrally adhere to the White base card.
  • Cut four 9cm x 6.3cm pieces of white card, ink up the large flower shape (piece of cloth) starting in the middle with Dandelion, working out with Tangelo, and Lady Bug to the edges, spritz with water and centrally stamp onto a piece of white card, repeat on the other three pieces, stamp a small circle of Tuxedo Black in the centre of each, with a red marker pen draw broken lines where you think four petals will be, and a few short lines radiating from the centre, distress all the edges using Peeled Paint,,
  • Cut a 4.5 cm x 18.3 cm piece of white card, ink up "With" only in Tuxedo Black and stamp it in the top left corner, clean off the stamp and repeat with "Love" in the bottom right corner, stamp a solid leaf above Love and below With using Bamboo Leaves and over stamp with the outline stamp in Bamboo Leaves, stamp more outline leaves only between the words, distress the edges in Peeled Paint.
  • Attach a piece of green chiffon ribbon across from the bottom left to the top right corners, adhere to the bottom of the red piece of card using Double Sided Tape or Glue, adhere the four flowers in the space above using Double Sided Tape or Glue, add a bow to the centre of the ribbon, with a card Candi in the centre and one in the top left and bottom right corners using 3D Glue.

CRD: Monthly Make - Black and white dreams

Here is another card idea I made using this months Monthly Make set from Crafty Roo Designs

This one again could be done in any colour and could be used for so many occasions - Good Luck, congratulations, birthday or even a just because card. 



Materials
  • Distress Inks - Black Soot and Hickory Smoke.
  • Die’sire Make a Wish EF6-WISH Embossalicious Folder. 
  • Versamark Clear ink Pad. 
  • Silver Embossing Powder.
  • Narrow Black Chiffon Ribbon.
  • 2 Silver Pearl Brads.
How to make
  • Cut a piece of white card a little smaller than the front of a small square black card.
  • Using Black Soot stamp the corner swirl in the top right and bottom left corners.
  • Randomly stamp the small three dandelion seeds in Hickory Smoke over the card.
  • Emboss with the embossing folder.
  • Heat emboss the edges in silver.
  • Knot a narrow piece of black chiffon ribbon to a silver pearl brad and attach to the stamped corners.
  • Adhere to the black card.
  • Stamp the large solid flower onto a piece of scrap card and cut out, draw round it three times onto black card (try not to touch the card too much) using a Versamark pad stamp Believe and Dream with the first letter to the wider end and Wish to the pointed end, and silver emboss.
  • Cut out and edge with a silver pen.
  • Using 3D foam pads down the centre of the card from top left to bottom right corners.

CRD: Monthly Make - Colourful Dreams

Here is another card I have made using this months Monthly Make from Crafty Roo Designs. This one is simple to do and can be adapted to suit any colourway!

Materials
  • Distress Inks - Abandoned Coral, Dusty Concord, Mermaid Lagoon, and Scattered Straw
  • Versamark Ink Pad
  • Silver Embossing Powder
  • Four Silver Glitter Brads.
How to make
  • Onto a 15cm x 15cm square piece of white card put random blocks of four bright colours to cover the card, spritz well with water and leave to dry,
  • Second generation stamp the small flower head to the same coloured block
  • Cut a 16cm x 16cm and a 5cm x 12.8cm piece of purple shimmer card
  • Centrally stamp “All dreams begin with a wish” onto the small piece of card in Versamark and Silver emboss it, silver emboss around the edges of the three pieces of card.
  • Centrally adhere the distressed piece to the purple card then to the front of a 7 inch square white card.
  • Attach a silver glitter brad to each corner of the sentiment piece and centrally attach to the card using 3D foam pads.

Project Club: Cream and Brown Easel Card

For this card I tried to stick to my favourite colours of browns and beige's.



How to make: 

  • Make a small square cream easel card with a extra front.
  • Onto the inside base of the easel card and one of the fronts, stamp the floral corner onto each corner using Memento Desert Sand, colour in the large flower and the centres of the small flowers in each corner on the square piece of card in a light tan promarkers, distress the two stamped pieces in Antique Linen.
  • On the other square piece of cream card, blue tac a 3mm square of paper to the centre, stamp the floral corner just above each side of the square in memento Rich Cocoa, colour in the flowers and leaves in shades of cream and brown promarkers.
  • Trim off the corner and sides just above the swirl, distress in Tea Dye and edge in Rich Cocoa.
  • Onto a 4cm x 7.5cm piece of cream card stamp Happy Birthday in Rich Cocoa, colour in the flowers, distress in Antique Linen and edge in Rich Cocoa.
  • Onto a 5cm x 8.5cm piece of cream card stamp the floral corner twice in Rich Cocoa, distress in Tea Dye, centrally attach the Happy Birthday to this and attach to the inside base of the card.
  • Stamp three large flowers onto cream card in Rich Cocoa, cut out and shape the three flowers, punch or die cut four brown fern leaves.
  • Centrally attach the trimmed piece of card to the square piece of card so the gaps between the floral corners line up with the corners, attach this with strong double sided tape or glue to the bottom half of the easel flap.
  • Add the fern to the centre square down the gaps in the with the three flowers in the centre, add ice gold stickles to the flower centres.

Project Club: Pink Happy Birthday

 This card is so simple to make it could be whipped up at the last minute! Imagine it in blues or purples......




How to make:  

  • Cut a 6.5inch square of pink card and attach a toning piece of pink backing paper on an angle 5cm across the top right down to 11cm across the bottom right side of the card, attach white ribbon over the join and centrally attach to a white seven inch square card.
  • Stamp the trellis onto a 7.7cm x 13.7cm piece of white card using Adirondack Cranberry ink, colour with shades of pink promarkers and mount onto burgundy card leaving a narrow border.
  • Stamp the trellis, Happy Birthday and an extra set of the long four flowers from the trellis onto white card in Cranberry, colour in the large flowers and the small flowers that are touching them. 
  • Cut out the Happy Birthday mount like the trellis onto burgundy card.
  • Attach the mounted trellis down the left of the card with the Happy Birthday towards the bottom on the right.
  • Cut out the four sets of large flowers in groups where they touch, (it makes it a lot quicker when gluing in place) using 3D glue attach the three sets with small flowers to the trellis and the other long set down the top right hand corner, add glossy accents to the centres of the cut flowers and Happy Birthday.

Project Club: Birthday Wishes

Another of this months Project Club cards made using the window box stamp!!!!!



How to make: 

  • Ink over a 4cm wide piece of white cotton lace long enough to go round a DL card using Stormy Sky and Faded Jeans distress ink, (leave to dry).
  • Onto the front of a white linen finish DL card 2nd generation stamp the large flower in Memento Paris Dusk, distress lightly in stormy sky.
  • Stamp the window box with Birthday Wishes in the panels, and three large flowers onto white linen card in Paris Dusk, colour in shades of blue and gray, cut out the three flowers and shape them, cut the window box out with a narrow white border, mount onto silver cut out as before.
  • Using 3D foam pads mount onto a 10cm x 6.5cm piece of blue card.
  • Attach the lace across the card, (landscape) attach Birthday Wishes to the left of the card with 3D foam pads.
  • Punch or die cut three small silver leaves and attach with the flowers to the bottom right hand corner using 3D glue, add crystal ice stickles to the centres of the flowers.

Project Club: Black and White Birthday card

This months Nina Crafts Project Club sets should be hitting those door mats and I hope you agree what a "blooming" marvellous set they are too!

Here's the first card for this month.



How to make
  • Stamp the floral corner in the top right and bottom left hand corners of a white linen finished DL card, (landscape) using memento Tuxedo Black.
  • Stamp the Happy Birthday and two of the large flowers onto extra white linen card, colour in all the flowers and leaves in shades of gray.
  • Cut out the two large flowers, shape them and attach with 3D glue to the floral corners.
  • Trim the Happy Birthday to 4cm x 7cm and mount onto a 5cm x 8cm piece of black card.
  • Attach a piece of silver edge ribbon on an angle across the card add a black card candie to each end.
  • Using 3D foam pads centrally attach the Happy Birthday, (it will fit landscape or portrait) add glitter glue to the centres of the large flowers.

Nina Crafts: Mistletoe

This card is another card I made using the new Christmas stamps from Nina Crafts, this stamps is called Love and Marriage under the Mistletoe (NC038). I am really pleased with how this card turned out, though the picture really doesn't do it justice (if I do so say myself!).




How to make:
  • Trim a 6.5cm strip off the front edge of a small square card.
  • Attach a piece of green Christmas backing paper onto the front and a 9.5cm piece to the right hand side of the inside of the card.
  • With a strip of dark cream die cut a lace border (Tim Holtz 657481 Vintage Lace) attached it across the top of the card.
  • Next attach a piece of dark red ribbon down the left hand side of the card and tie an extra piece towards the top.
  • Attach a small Christmas tag and die cut fern to the bottom left hand corner.
  • Stamp the couple (NC038 Love and Marriage under the Mistletoe) once and just Mavis with mistletoe once onto white card in Memento Tuxedo Black.
  • Colour them in (both Mavis’s the same) and cut out.
  • Attach the couple to the inside of the card and line Mavis up over the front cut edge and glue in place, add glitter glue to the front Mavis and two crystal gems to the ribbon.

Nina Crafts: Cracking Christmas

This card is another I have made using the new Christmas stamp sets from Nina Crafts, this stamp set is called Cracking Christmas (NC036).


How to make:
  • Stamp the cracker (NC036 Cracking Christmas) onto white card in Memento Tuxedo Black, colour in and cut out.
  • With a bit of masking, cutting and gluing I made two more crackers without head, hands and feet colour both in and cut them out.
  • Attach a piece of cream Christmas backing paper to the front of an A5 card shape and attach the crackers to the top of the card with 3D glue having the one with the face in the middle.
  • Attach two pieces of gold ribbon to the bottom of the card knot a piece of ribbon to the left of the top one.
  • Stamp “Have A Very Merry Christmas” (2400067a Frosty’s Fashion Frenzy) onto cream card in Memento Rich Cocoa.
  • Attach over the bottom ribbon on the right hand side, with a large Christmas brad to the left over the ribbon.
  • Finally add some die cut stars and snowflakes to the two plain crackers with glitter glue.

Nina Crafts: Classy Baubles

Whoops where have the past few weeks gone??? 

I might not have been keeping you all updated on my crafty adventures but I have been busy. Last week (or maybe the week before!) I got to play with the new stamp sets from Nina Crafts, this card has been made using the Baubles Galore (NC039) stamp set.


How to make: 
  • Stamp each of the baubles (NC039 Baubles Galore) onto cream pearl card in Memento Rich Cocoa.
  • Cut out and colour in with a gold pen and gold glitter glue.
  • When dry punch a small hole in the top of each bauble and thread through some fine gold cord.
  • Attach the baubles over the top to the back of a 10.5cm x 15.5cm piece of cream pearl card on which you have stamped “Have A Very Merry Christmas” (2400067a Frosty’s Fashion Frenzy) in the bottom right hand corner.
  • Centrally mount this onto a 11.5cm x16.5cm piece of craft card and then onto a 12.5cm x 17.5cm (5x7 inches) light gold pearl card.
  • Finally attach a pale gold ribbon to the three large baubles.

CRD: All about the cogs

For this card I raided my ribbon bag and found this wool that looks like chain! I think it works really well with the cogs, and makes a really quick and simple card.

CRD: Crafty Gent

I have been busy recently making samples for Crafty Roo Designs, I love working with their stamps as they are really quirky, and they scream out for Distress Inks.........

Project Club: Main card for August

Here is this months main project club card from Dimension Stamps. All of the things you need to make it are included with the project club stamps.

How to make:
  • Trim 1cm off one long and one short side of an A5 piece of pale green card, stamp the tree in the top left and bottom right hand corners, with the Cherry Blossom words in the other two corners using Memento Toffee Crunch.
  • Colour in the tree trunk and branches in a tan Promarker.
  • Attach a piece of brown chiffon ribbon 2cm in down the right hand side of the piece of card.
  • Fold a piece of A4 Kraft card in half and centrally attach the pale green piece of card to it.
  • Cut a 17.5cm x 7.5cm piece of medium green card and  mark 3cm in from each corner across one of the 7.5cm ends and 4cm down each side, cut these corners off to make a tag shape, punch a hole in the top and use a corner punch on the bottom two corners, round off the cut edges.
  • Using Memento Rich Cocoa stamp the tree in the middle of the tag, fill in the top and bottom with the Cherry Blossom words, colour in the tree trunk and branches in tan.
  • Stamp three birds onto medium green card in Memento Rich Cocoa and cut them out.
  • Make a bow from raffia and attach to the tag.
  • Attach the tag on an angle from the top left to the bottom right hand corner using foam pads, shape and attach the birds to the bottom of the card with 3D glue and apply glossy accent to them, add gold stickles to some of the blossom on the green tag.

Project Club: Turquoise Screen

I couldn't resist making a screen shaped card as soon as I saw these stamps!



How to make:
  • Make an A4 piece of turquoise card into a gate fold card, round off the front top edges 9.5cm at the front edge to 15cm at the fold then round off the back corners.
  • Mark off 1cm up and out from the bottom folds and centre of the card cut away to make legs.
  • On the cut off piece of card stamp three birds in Memento Tuxedo Black, colour in with a darker turquoise pen, cut out shape and apply glossy accent leave to dry.
  • Open out the card and on the inside back stamp the tree in the top centre using Memento Tuxedo Black, under this stamp “Happy Birthday”(an old Hot of the Press stamp), on each inside front  stamp the three symbols across the bottom, with a fan stamped above them in which  two birds have been stamped.

  • Colour in the birds, the top edge, down the side of the fan, tree trunk and branches with the turquoise pen.
  • Turn the card over and stamp bamboo (a very old Stampin Up stamp) on the two fronts of the card in black ink.
  • Cut two strips of white card to fit across the fronts of the card and 2 cm deep.
  • First stamp part of the tree in turquoise ink then over stamp with the three symbols in black, mount onto black card and attach to the fronts 0.5cm up from the bottom of the screen.
  • Stamp the tree in turquoise ink onto two 9cm x 7.5cm pieces of white card, colour in the trunk and branches with a turquoise pen, over stamp with the fan in black ink, cut out and punch a hole in the bottom thread through narrow turquoise ribbon add three iridescent beads to each end of the ribbon, attach to the fronts of the card with foam pads.
  • Finally attach the three birds around the top of the tree with 3D glue add blue glitter glue to the top edge of two white fans and to some of the blossom on the back tree.

Project Club: Cherry Blossom

I love how this card turned out, I can see me making it in many colour combinations.



How to make: 

  • Fold an A5 piece of dark cream card in half.
  • Using Memento Rich Cocoa stamp a background with the Cherry Blossom word stamp.
  • Onto a 13.5cm x 13.5cm piece of dark cream card stamp the tree using Memento Rich Cocoa, a row of five birds onto a 3.5cm x 14.8cm strip of dark cream card, and Happiness onto 1.5cm x 2cm piece of dark cream card edge in Memento Rich Cocoa.
  • Colour in the trunk, branches and three of the birds in tan.
  • Die cut the cream tree using the smallest circle from (Grand Decorative Circles One LF-015) and from brown pearl card cut the next size up.
  • Attach this to the top of the cream card, using foam pads centrally attach the cream circle on top of the brown circle.
  • Mount the strip of birds onto a 4.3cm x 14.8cm piece of brown pearl card, attach this 1cm up from the bottom of the card.
  • From brown chiffon ribbon make a bow and attach between the strip and circles on the left hand side of the card.
  • Finally glue the Happiness to the bow.
